Fork Union Project
The Fork Union Solar Project features a 85 MW utility-scale solar generation facility & 50 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on 825 acres under development in Fluvanna County, Virginia. The Project will generate clean and cost-effective wholesale electricity for the bulk power system with target completion and energization in 2028.
Construction Plans
If approved, the project site will begin construction in Nov, 2026 . It will comprise of approximately 206,604 solar panels placed on close to 440 acres producing enough capacity to power approximately — homes.
The power from Fork Union Solar will be delivered to the local Virginia electrical grid which will help to diversify Virginia’s Energy Portfolio. The Project will generate clean and cost-effective wholesale electricity for the bulk power system with commencement of delivery in 2028.
